Windows Live

Availability & compatibility

What Windows Live services are available and how do they work?

To bring together your mobile and online worlds, Nokia customers can now access Windows Live services on your compatible mobile phone – including Windows Live Spaces, Messenger, Hotmail, Contacts and Live Search.

Integrated into your Nokia handset, these Windows Live services are as easy to use as sending an SMS. Check out the benefits:

• Your Windows Live contact list on your phone is synchronized with your Windows Live contacts on the web. You'll see all your Windows Live contacts right next to your device contacts and their online status is clear at a glance.

• Windows Live Messenger has been enhanced so you can send voice clips and photos via Instant messaging (IM), express yourself with emoticons, and change your display picture to match your location.

• Windows Live Hotmail now plugs directly into your Nokia device's e-mail client and gives you quick and easy access to your e-mail. When composing an e-mail you can also attach a photo, video, or voice recording.

Using Windows Live

Which email address should I use?

You can sign in using your Windows Live email address (e.g. YourEmailAddress@hotmail.com, YourEmailAddress@live.com, or YourEmailAddress@MSN.com) and password. If you do not have a Windows Live ID, go to www.get.live.com on your PC to sign up. You can also sign into Windows Live using the email address and password for a Microsoft Office Live account.

How do I get a Windows Live ID?

If you don't have a Windows Live ID, go to http://login.live.com/ and create a Windows Live ID. Once you've created a Windows Live ID, you can access your new Hotmail, Messenger and Windows Live Spaces accounts right from your Nokia phone.

Can I access more than one Windows Live account from the same device?

This is NOT recommended. Accessing more than one account on your device can lead to data corruption and/or loss.

How do I synchronize my contacts and e-mail on my S60 phone?

When you sign in to Windows Live Messenger for the first time, you can choose to synchronize your Windows Live contacts from the web to your phone. At any time, you can synchronize your inbox or Windows Live contacts by simply clicking Sync in the applications.

When you sign in for the first time, your Contacts may not be arranged correctly (alphabetically). Simply sign-out, then sign back into Windows Live Messenger.
